CENTRAL OFFICE REPORT – GNOSB MEETING JUNE 25, 2025

Shorter report since we have elections planned for this month’s meeting, and the two conventions and GNOSB inventory were a notable part of our focus this past month.

2025 Big Deep South Convention.

  • Revenue: $1514.82 ($1,547.82 in 2024, -$33 YOY, -2% diff YOY) after reducing prices inventory-wide this past year.
  • 80 transactions 2025 (80 transactions in 2024, no change YOY)
  • 248 items sold 2025 (186 items sold in 2024, +62 items sold YOY, a 33% increase YOY)
  • Best-selling items: The New Frontier: Emotional Sobriety Collector’s Edition (newest from Grapevine), Joe & Charlie BB Comes Alive, Drop the Rock and The Ripple Effect; our expanded merchandise of recovery stickers and recovery-related booklets were also popular this year
  • Central Office is grateful to be able to help provide support to various aspects of the Big Deep South Convention; report available here.

2025 SELA Spring Roundup. Huge success carrying the message.

  • Revenue: $1915.48 ($769.66 in 2024, $1145.82 YOY, 149% increase YOY, 2.5x YOY) after reducing prices inventory-wide this past year
  • 105 transactions 2025 (36 transactions in 2024, +69 transactions YOY, a 192% increase YOY, 2.9x YOY)
  • 261 items 2025 (55 items sold in 2024, +206 items sold YOY, a 375% diff YOY, 4.75x)
  • Best-selling items: Plain Language Big Book, The Next Frontier: Emotional Sobriety Collector’s Edition (newest from GV), Drop the Rock, A Woman’s Way Through the Twelve Steps, women’s recovery literature and meditation-focused recovery literature; our expanded recovery merchandise

Convention Season Overall. Packed up table Saturday night of convention after final speaker; did not significantly impact sales numbers to pack up Saturday night compared to Sunday afternoon; allowed more time to be able to reset the office and review inventory before reopening on Monday (BDSC)/Tuesday (Round Up).

  • We are grateful and happy to see our merchandise expansion and new pricing structure have resulted in an increased number of items sold at this year’s event. Those numbers spiritually equate to more recovery-related literature and merchandise in the hands of more recovering alcoholics – a ripple effect we are grateful to be part of.

Service Board Inventory. We heard out the voices present from our fellowship and have begun processing those comments to bring our office’s contribution to a collective contribution leading to a list of goals for the future of the office and our board. We hope to have more info to share with you soon, pending outcome of elections and onboarding new board members.

Bulletin Backer. Subscriptions: April 2025: 4, $144. May 2025: 3, $108. June 2025 (Month to-date): 5, $180.

Website Content Updates. After questions and feedback from the Service Board Inventory last weekend, we added several documents to the Service Board & Central Office page of our website, including the most recent job descriptions we could find for Service Board officers, committee chairs, and Central Office Manager. In May, we added to the Contributions page, 2024 home group contributions and 2025 home group contributions to date.

Technology Upgrades – Zoom for Hybrid Meetings. We were able to do some upgrades on existing equipment and successfully tested the hybrid meeting format via Zoom in the office back meeting room during the Big Deep South committee’s planning meetings in May. Our Service Board meetings will be hybrid, audio-only, today and going forward.
