Agenda Items
The following motions will be on our January 2025 Area 27 Assembly business meeting agenda.  Background information is supplied by the motion maker and provided below each item.

1) Hotel/Venue Bids for 2025/2026 assembly locations.

• There are currently no bids submitted to the Chair/Alt-Chair for review by the Ad Hoc Committee on Bids.  If you are currently working on a bid in your local area, please obtain venue proposals as soon as possible and submit to [email protected].  Hotel bid presentations will be made and voted on at the January 2025 assembly.

2) Motion to create an Outreach Chair position.

• Role outline:  The Area Outreach Chair will be responsible for coordinating outreach efforts to connect with individuals or organizations that may benefit from AA’s resources and support. This role may include:

i) Collecting and analyzing demographic data through surveys and feedback threads.
ii) Reaching out: Contacting “dark” or inactive districts or regions within the state to gather information to see their needs and interest in Area-level participation.
iii) Coordinating AA Outreach Chairs/volunteers across the state: Recruiting and organizing AA members to participate in outreach events and activities.
iv) Facilitating Workshops or Presentations: Leading informational sessions about AA’s purpose, traditions, and how meetings work.
v) Serving as a Liaison: Acting as a point of contact for community members interested in learning more about AA or starting their recovery journey.

3) Motion to hold an online Area Committee Meeting each month that the Area Assembly does not meet.

• Rationale: Having an active area assembly would give us a chance to get to know our district leader and what their needs are.  When we have elections we would better understand who our leaders really are.  We can better align our committee’s action with our needs.

The 2024 Q4 minutes, 2024 year-end financials, and January 2025 assembly schedule will be sent out in future emails as they become available.
